Ronnie MT 2K23 tells Complex. "I was part of our team to bring this project to life but it was very appropriate to work with him. When we announced the teaser, everyone thought it was going to just be another basketball player...it allows us live in fashion, cultureand music which 2K has a seat at the table right now."

NBA 2K has evolved from an ordinary product that was marketed as a novelty within the world of gaming. It's now a cultural moment with its integration of music, pop culture, fashion, sneakers, and, of the course, basketball, has elevated the franchise to levels have not been matched by any other game. With its latest edition, NBA 2K23, the game made history after announcing J. Cole as the first rapper to be featured on the cover of NBA 2K with the Dreamer Edition. While it's no surprise that 2K released a cover like this at such a late stage in the launch, the pattern of the game may have implied that this might happen some day. Even so, this wasn't even 2K's idea. It was J. Cole's.

"Three and a half years ago when he shot a ball in one break in the All-Star Weekend Saturday Night, J. Cole said 'Ronnie, I'd love to be on MyCareer and help you think of the ideas around it"" Ronnie 2K tells Complex. "I was part of our team to bring this idea to fruition, and it was fitting to collaborate with him. When we released that tease, everybody thought it was going to be another basketball player...it lets us to stay in fashion, culture, music where 2K is sitting at the table now."

J. Cole cover J. Cole cover is one of four different covers on the new edition of 2K and the other covers feature Michael Jordan, Devin Booker and a duo featuring Sue Bird and Diana Taurasi. NBA 2K23 talk has been buzzing on social media since the NBA ratings falling this week. Kevin Durant even took at playful jab following his 2K rating being released. On the week of the game's launch, we talked to Ronnie Singh aka Ronnie 2K on the choice to put MJ onto the covers of the game instead of LeBron and the reason why Devin Booker was selected over other NBA stars, MyCareer, ProAm, gameplay, and more.

As someone who's apart of the development process, what's the biggest thing you're excited about for NBA 2K23? Well getting to see Jordan as the front cover is always an amazing experience, and getting to work with himis a dream, as is the declaration that is a reflection of our game: one of the most memorable of all time. It's really a testament to the goals we set out to accomplish from a purely marketing perspective , but also what the game's future is shaping up to be.

We have our Jordan challenges. They're back. However, they're larger. Better. There's been lots of chatter about each and every one of them, but it's the one which is going to be extremely emotional as well as the one I'm anticipating going back to and revisiting is Kobe. It's the first time that they'll play one another. It's going to be really entertaining. I'm a big MyTeam player, so I was really looking forward to more contracts and 2K23 MT the triple threat co-operative online.
