Whether you build your own RO water purifier or buy one, it's critical to understand how to properly instal the components. When you dispense water, an improperly installed RO unit will vibrate or make a humming noise.

The first step is to decide where you want to put your RO unit. It is typically attached to the sidewall of a sink cabinet. Your system can also be installed beneath a sink. However, if you live in a cold climate, this is not advised.

To connect water line connections, most RO systems use quick-connect fittings. These fittings function by inserting the tube into the fitting. The fitting should be installed as close as possible to the RO unit.
